My Rose

My heart beats fast, my soul alight, As I gaze upon her beauty bright, But she ignores my every plea, And my love remains a one-sided sea. Her heart is cold, her words sharp, And yet I cannot help but feel a spark, For every time I see her face, My heart begins to race. But oh, the pain I feel inside, For she is rude and full of pride, And though I try to win her heart, I fear that we are worlds apart. Still, I cannot help but hope, That someday she will find a way to cope, With the love that I have to give, And learn to let her own heart live. So though my love may go unrequited, I will hold onto it, undaunted and unblighted, For even if she never sees, My love for her will always be.
